todd said this is the "why" generation....don't know if he heard it, or coined it, but i totally agree. when a child is told what to do their answer isn't "yes sir" or "yes ma'am", their next action isn't to do exactly what they've been told....
the thing that comes out their mouth next, as they continue to do or not do what they have been asked is WHY?
"x, stop jumping on your bed"
"why?"
"c, please bring me that plate."
"why?"
in theory, it is good to ask questions, to get more information, but it is as if they are untrusting or questioning authority.
this is a big problem for us right now...and a big problem in the world. lack of responsibility and respect, i believe that it stems from this "why" generation.
so what can we do to fix it?
