what did cassidy find to play with? my mascara. start the makeup lessons while they are young. not only did she find the makeup in my bag, but the pen (which is not on her face!) and the pacifier. so much for only in her bed!

sunday.
we went to church at 9am for the first time in 3 years. it was great. we even took a nap when we got home. (except for xander, he doesn't need a nap anymore).
then off to george & pam's for dinner. a southern dinner. hopefully we ate enough collard greens and black eyed peas for good luck and fortune for the coming year.

new year, new primary class.
i'm teaching valiant 9s.
xander is a ctr now.
we had a "get-to-know-you" breakfast with our new classes this morning at the church.
it was a lot of fun. cassidy came too, she was not about to be left behind.
i had a massage today. very relaxing. it is the end of the day and i already want another one!
today was also "take-down-the-tree" day.
last year we decided that it was such a sad day when the christmas tree came down and the decorations were packed away. so we started a new tradition. something to look forward to when the living room was empty and seemingly too large.....the MARSHMALLOW SNOWBALL FIGHT. it was our second annual. xander had so much fun pelting everyone that he cried when we showed signs of slowing down. however, then he took to "batting" at any marshmallows thrown at hime with his swords. very comical. cassidy had so much fun watching all of us nuts (including george & pam) and eating the marshmallows off the floor. to follow up the confection fight i put out on the table donuts & hot chocolate (xander thought it would make the perfect treat following a snowball fight), left over candy, cookies, and treats from the holiday. it was a sugar orgy. i let xander guzzle red fruit punch/soda as well. judging by the pink stain that is now on my living room carpet, maybe a free-for-all of sugar and soda after running around was not such a good idea. good news is, he felt much better after.

lazy day.
we stayed home all day.
i tried to clean and organize. i even started on the awful mess that is my office (see blog from april 2008). i let xander watch tv all day, again. i tried to do puzzles and color with cassidy each time she asked.
we sat on the kitchen floor and played connect four and laughed.
just a laid back (maybe too far back) 2nd day of the year.

can i do it? could i possible take a picture or jot a note down for each day of the year? well, the scrapbooker in me really wants to. what a great book to turn out at the end of 2009. i bombed last year trying to take 365 pictures of myself, or writing about myself each day. maybe if i broaden my scope and take in my family...
